Configuring Your Browser to display JavaScript and Java Applets:

How to configure Internet Explorer to view Java and JavaScript?

  1. On Internet Explorer browser's "Tools" menu, click on "Internet Options".
  2. Click the "Advanced" Tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Java (Sun), or Java Plug-In section. This option will usually be displayed along with the Java coffee cup logo. Note: The wording is a little different depending on which browser version you have. Make sure you have the checkbox "Use JRE 1.5.0_06 for applet (requires restart)" checked. See the picture below.
  4. Click the "Apply" button.
  5. Click the "OK" button to exit the dialog box.
  6. Close the browser.
  7. Open up a new Internet Explorer browser. This browser is now able to view JavaScript and Java Applets.


How to configure Mozilla Firefox to view Java and JavaScript?

  1. On Mozilla Firefox browser's "Tools" menu, click on "Options".
  2. Click the "Content" Icon.
  3. Click the "Enable Java" checkbox to enable Java.
  4. Click the "Enable JavaScript" checkbox to enable JavaScript.
  5. Click the "OK" button to save the changes in Option dialog's lower right corner.
  6. Close the browser.
  7. Open up a new Mozilla Firefox browser. This browser is now able to view JavaScript and Java Applets.


How to configure Netscape Navigator to view Java and JavaScript?

  1. On the Netscape Navigator browser's "Edit" menu, click on "Preferences".
  2. Click on the word "Advanced".
  3. Make sure that the checkboxes for both "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript for Navigator" are both checked. See the picture below.
  4. Click on the OK button
  5. Close the browser.
  6. Start up a new Netscape browser. This browser is can now view both JavaScript and Java Applets.
